Colour-blocking seems to be the it thing this season and I think we should all try it at least once. So what is this colour-blocking, you ask? It’s a way of wearing multiple solid colours in one outfit; colours are usually bold bright shades. According to Company Magazine, it was a hot trend during the Spring/Summer season last year, but I say why not bring it back?

The Awards Season also saw celebrities donning colour-blocked gowns; Taylor Swift wore a A/W14 Carolina Herrera dress with a partial black bustier and red body. Amy Adams (who won an award for American Hustle) sashayed down the red carpet in a Maison Valentino in which the top was a deeper shade of red than the skirt.

Not only is it a chic fashion statement but it’s also fun no matter your skill level. Many high street chains are promoting their key pieced for the season including Primark, French Connection, Jigsaw and M&S.
